National Ministries Spotlight: PF Malaysia & PF Taiwan

#PrayerPerspectives

PF Malaysia as a prisons ministry provides a wide array of support for the prisoners, which includes Prison Care, where they serve the inmates in prison, Family Care, where the loved ones of the incarcerated are being supported holistically, and After Care, where they journey and care for the ex-offenders as they exit prison, integrating back into society.

As shared by PF Malaysia, though their national ministry reports as one country, they are made up of three independent entities, one prisons ministry in the Peninsula, one in Sarawak, and another in Sabah. This reminded me of the common goal that we as Christians all share. We may have different tongues, different cultures, different traditions and expressions, but we are all seeking to reflect one of the same faith.

'There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.' - ‭‭Ephesians 4:4-6‬

Too often we would see our differences as challenges, failing to recognise what unites us. We are quick to form camps, sides, and lines. Due to our need for belonging, we attach ourselves to whatever tradition our local church come from, or limit ourselves to what our cultures have each taught us since birth. Not long after, we would form our own prejudices and stereotypes against those who are unlike us, and in no time, we breed infighting even among believers ourselves. Is not our God the Maker of all Mankind?

At the end of the day, the Lord is sovereign and global. He is over all and through all and in all. Whether denominational or not, traditional or contemporary, in fact, Christian or not, let us radiate the light and love that Christ did in His ministry. Let us learn to see each lives as God would, worthy and valuable. Focus on what unites us, and stand together in one faith, all the glory to God!
